My "M" word this week is "Macaroni." Probably not part of my favorite pasta list, but I do like it when it is cooked soup style - with veggies (cabbages, carrots, and green beans), shredded chicken and lots of evaporated milk. This pasta dish was not mine, but for another blogger friend, when we attended the anniversary party of Nom Nom Foodie Club held at Greenwich, SM North Edsa.
I like how restaurants now take measures to "upgrade" their dishes, Like these pasta dishes in the picture. Before, when Greenwich was fairly new, their pasta dishes were served in Styrofoam
(even if you dine in) and that their servings weren't much. Add to that the very greasy lasagna... I remembered my Aunt Julie complaining about it, saying it was like slurping oil (though that's an exaggeration).
Now, I am loving that they serve their pasta in nice plates, their servings are fairly big, and that the taste just got a lot better. Preparing good food is not just an expression of art and creativity (as there are people coming up with great foods from humble ingredients), it has also become a celebration of how blessed we are to have these gifts to nourish, comfort, and satisfy us.
