My "L" word for this week is "Longganisa," the Philippine version of sausages. It would seem as if every region in the country has their own unique and distinct sausage flavor, but my favorite would have to be the Lucban Longganisa, from the province of Quezon. This picture, however was the Malolos Longganisa, from the province of Bulacan, which I bought at the Sidcor Weekend Market last December.
I am a big breakfast eater. Being Filipino, I love to eat the traditional Filipino breakfast with fried rice and a sunny side up egg (though I don't eat egg everyday). Whenever we have longganisa here at home, I would only eat two pieces per meal, and even without the egg, I would eat longganisa about three days apart until the family finishes it all.
Before, I would often start the day without eating breakfast, and I do agree that when the tummy starts to complain, it would make doing things a little harder. I for one couldn't think about what I have to do because my mind was constantly sending signals in my brain that I am hungry. Starting the day by eating breakfast, I realized I could work faster and much efficient.
