Weekend Eating - Siomai Mami

Hello Foodies!

My last week wasn't that good - colds got back and it sucked out all my remaining energy. "Lowbatt" seemed to be my word for the week, so weekend wasn't good as well. Even if I tried some recipes last week, I pretty much gave my apron to my siblings who cooked the foods this weekend.

If it's your first time joining this meme, my warm welcome to you. I am so happy and thankful to have you here... of course, my gratitude also goes out to the regular players of the meme. :)

Obvious Rules:
  • Post images of a food you ate during the past weekend (Friday included). Please use only images that are your own, or you have permission to use.
  • Do include the code of the badge (check the right side panel of this blog to get the code).
  • Leave your link below once you're done making the post.
  • Visit other participants' blogs and leave a comment love, too.
My share this week:

Siomai Mami

This bowl of Siomai Mami was something brother cooked for lunch yesterday. I was actually amazed that brother thought of cooking something like this, we pretty much had our own businesses yesterday - I was doing the laundry, mom was cleaning the kitchen, and sister was resizing her pictures. It was already past 11AM and still no one was thinking of lunch, so brother went to the nearby market and bought the ingredients for this dish.

It was actually quite easy for brother to whip this up because he opted to buy the pre-cut vegetables (quite cheaper compared to buying each of the veggies) and used store bought siomai. The broth was rich and hot when he served it, so eating it was so comforting. Thanks for cooking lunch, bro!

What did you have last weekend?

Unfortunately, Inlikz isn't available at the moment, so please just share your links on the comment page, and I will just fix it up later. Thanks!

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
