Jay-J's Inasal

I really, really want to go for "juice" for this week, but I wasn't able to buy any fresh fruit, so I'd just go for this.

Jay-J's Inasal

Among all the chicken dishes, my favorite is the "inasal," a way of grilling which originated in the Visayan regions. While I love my own inasal (I cook this dish every now and then), I think my very first taste of the chicken inasal was at this restaurant - Jay-J's Inasal in SM City Fairview. Years after that food trip, the family went to eat there again last May and I am so glad that this restaurant is still there, despite the numerous restaurants closing nearby.

During that food trip, the family went there to celebrate cousin Jayson's (hey, that's J, too!) biggest blessing to date - passing the Electronics Engineering board exam. We went for their set meal (good for 5 persons), and it included the chicken inasal (pictured above).

There are so many chicken inasal outlets all over the Metro, some tasted much better than this one, but Jay-J's Inasal will always be at my top 3 list... just until some other restaurants knock it off its post. :)

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
