Weekend Eating | Arroz Caldo

Arroz Caldo

Last Saturday, sister and I took part of the "Akyat Pinatubo: bloggers' climb for a cause," and apart from the body aches and sunburn, I unfortunately is coping up with tonsillitis, for reasons unclear to me. I am thinking maybe it was the pineapple juice I drank early in the morning (we had breakfast at around 4-ish in the morning) and sleeping without drinking water. After the trek I continued drinking the PJ and caught some sleep again, and when we reached a Jollibee branch along NLEX, I ordered quite a lot - chicken spaghetti meal + choco sundae - only to be disappointed because I was having difficulty swallowing. When we reached Quezon Avenue, I asked sister if we could enter a fast food to fix our stuff and seeing a mirror near the restroom, I checked my mouth, and found out my tonsils are already swelling.

Eating the whole of Sunday was a difficult thing - I still am feeling hungry yet I couldn't eat that much. For dinner, when brother asked what we wanted to eat, I asked if he could cook something soft, so they (bro and sis) decided to cook arroz caldo. Even with the soft texture, I still wasn't able to eat that much because of the discomfort.

Brother suggested I do nothing about it and let it heal by itself, but of course I needed to watch for it, so I won't have to take antibiotics.

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
