Pizza Hut Bloggers' Meet and Greet with Ms. Shamcey Supsup

Six days ago, Pizza Hut Philippines (via their Facebook Page) posted a message about an exclusive Meet-and-Greet with Ms. Shamcey Supsup. It's open to all bloggers, so when my sister read the message, she quickly told me about it. Obviously, we sent them our names and blog URL. A few days after, we got to receive the formal invitation, and we were so ecstatic.

I have many fond memories involving Pizza Hut. It has been part of our lives since we were young, and my late father would always tell a funny (and embarrassing) story when he treated brother and I to a Pizza Hut branch in Araneta Center. When I was in college, my dad and I would often meet in Cubao and travel home together, and since our house is way too far, we would buy the Pizza Hut pizza slices (buy 1 take 1), which we will eat while on the road.

Anyway, the event was scheduled last night (26 October) at their branch in Glorietta 4, Makati. Before we left, we got to read a message on their wall saying "The earliest bird will win a prize," so we didn't roam around the shops anymore. The minute we got off Ayala, we quickly went to the location. Well, I think we came overly early, as the registration starts at 5:30pm, yet we were already there at 4:50pm. Hahaha. Well, we were thankful we arrived that early, because just 15 minutes after, another blogger arrived.

This event is for Pizza Hut's newest offering - the Tuscani pizza. Their pan pizza ise something I will always love, but they are right - people's palate changes quite quickly, so the food industry must constantly innovate and come up with new ideas to adapt to ever changing demands of the costumers. The Tuscani pizza was actually a year in the making, because they wanted to serve quality pizza. Their innovation started with the crust - from their pan pizza, to their stuff crust pizza, and now to the Tuscani - they wanted to serve a pizza that is neither too thick nor too thin - just the right thinness that will highlight the flavors of its toppings.

The endorser of the Tuscani pizza is Ms. Universe 2011 3rd runner up Shamcey Supsup, whose life is quite similar to the Tuscani pizza - simple yet abundant, thin yet full-flavored. She arrived even before the event started, and even if she looked so simple when she arrived, her beauty still shines through. When I saw her and she started talking about the Tuscani pizza, sister and I agreed that she truly is the perfect endorser for this pizza.

Serving Pizza

Us bloggers didn't just meet her... she was also the one who served our Tuscani Supremo pizza! A Miss Universe serving our pizza? Just goes to show how down-to-earth she is.

Pizza Hut Tuscani Pizza Supremo Carbonara and Pizza

Tonight's dinner included a serving of their pasta carbonara and two slices of the Tuscani pizza - the All Meat and the Supremo flavors. I was able to finish the pasta because it just tasted so good; I loved the diced bell peppers and the mix of creaminess and seasonings. The pizza were great, too, but I only gave each a taste (two bite-size slices per pizza) because I am actually on a diet. :)

Even if I didn't eat a lot of the pizza, I was able to taste how awesome it was. If you're a very close friend of mine, you'd know I will always choose the pan pizza over the thin crust ones, because the thin crust pizzas I tasted back then were either crunchy (it was like eating crackers with toppings) or too salty (because of too much toppings). However, what sets the Tuscani apart from the other thin crust pizza is that that it's not really hard - it has a light crunchy crust, yet even if it's thin, it still is chewy. And because the crust is quite thin, I was able to taste the flavors of the different toppings. Between the two flavors, I liked the All-Meat more.

The Tuscani pizza has five flavors - All Meat, BBQ Chicken, 3 Cheese Bacon & Spinach, Roast Beef, and Supremo. It's available in two sizes: medium (10-inches) and super family-size (14-inches). All Tuscani flavors are available as is, or as part of Value Feast Meals with Spaghetti Bolognese and Lipton Sparkling Lemon Tea.

After dinner, there were rounds of question and answer. Some questions were about the pizza, some were about Ms. Universe, and some were about both. She was so candid and natural when answering the questions - it was like a group of friends talking and exchanging messages, but of course, with poise. When one blogger asked her to match the different Tuscani flavors to the Top 5 candidates of the recent Miss Universe, she still matched herself to the "Supremo" flavor, as it is the "supreme" one. I admired how she values herself.

Before calling it a night, they awarded the early birds. Their wall message said "earliest bird," so I was thinking they will just award one person, hence I asked sister to register first. Since we arrived together, we were the earliest birds and we were both given a prize. What was the prize? All I can say is "I am seeing a Pizza Hut food trip anytime soon." I want to taste that 3 Cheese Bacon and Spinach Tuscani! :)

There was also a photo booth set up bySay Kawaii, and of course sister and I didn't pass up the chance to pose for pictures.

I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to Pizza Hut for this event. We were so happy to be a part of this exclusive event.

By the way, Pizza Hut has an ongoing contest for Facebook and Tumblr users... please check my post before this for the complete details.

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
