Rice Meal

Corned Beef Rice

Being Asian, rice is a big part of my diet, and is something I can't give up. One time, I tried to take it away of my diet, and after four days, I went crazy and went back eating it.

This was a breakfast I made last August; using leftover rice, canned corned beef and a sunny side up egg. However, it's been quite a while since I last had rice for breakfast - it has been said that breakfast has to be the heaviest meal of the day, but it is the lightest meal for me, because I eat my breakfast between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning, and I do my first workout around 9:00 or 9:30 in the morning depending on the time I had my breakfast. My heaviest meal is lunch, where I eat 2/3 cup of rice. Dinner, I try to go for 1/2 cup of rice... but at times I go for 2/3 cup as well.

Whether it's Java Rice, Garlic Rice, Yang Chow Fried Rice, or the simple Steamed Rice... whether people tell me to watch my carbs, I still cannot give up my rice. I can only moderate my intake.

Ooooooh I love the sound of this - we eat lots of rice and if there is any leftover the hens love it too. At first I thought this had red kidney beans involved - sort of a chilli type of dish. Any rice recipes you have I would love as I feel it is good to have some variety don't you agree?
Great post for ABC Wednesday - thanks so much.

I love passionate food people. I just LOVE dark chocolate!!! I have one or two squares a day and feel stated and complete.
I just finished dinner and part of it was rice!
yes, ms. jenn, you don't have to give up on rice, you just have to eat moderately :) when i started my weight loss challenge in May, i cut back on my rice to half-cup a day, and in a week's time, i lost 3 pounds. i was surprised with how much rice contributes to my unwanted weight. hehe!

cheers to happy and healthier foodie adventures! :)

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
