Pop Rice

199/365 c2 - Pop Rice

When I was a kid, I knew a lot of junk foods and I think I have tried a lot of it. Well, both of my parents worked and we were left at home, we had a few pesos to spare - off to the sari sari store! :) One of the pasalubongs my parents usually take home was the pop rice. I used to love that food back then!

When I went to the market and saw a man selling these treats, I immediately bought myself a pack. I took a picture of it before eating it, and although the crunchy texture was good, overall I wasn't ecstatic to eating it. I guess the sweet taste was the one thing that made this a great hit for the kids, but because I am not into sweets, I wasn't happy about it that much. Still, I had to eat it all - but it took me three days to eat all 10 balls of pop rice.

love the shot!
you know, my MIL likes eating that. everytime she goes to the market (every Sat) and we're at their place she always buys that for the kids. :)
am not a fan, though, since i am more used to the type of puffed rice we had at my province. lol. still, it's nice seeing them enjoy it.

thanks again, Jenn
enjoy your weekend, too!

This looks kinda tasty huh? I've never had this before...dunno I must have missed it and it makes for a great photo. BTW, the Thai salad is a spicy one...you just have to fry the mango slices with coconut milk, add some peanuts. The sauce is made of vinegar, sugar and a little salt and the thai spicy sauce. It really tastes good. But I had to make a little milder 'coz I can't take the original taste...just too hot for me.

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
