Broccoli with Scallops

Brocolli with Scallops in White Superior Sauce

... in White Superior Sauce.

Whew! Quite a long name for a dish, eh? When the family went to eat lunch at the Flavours of China (located in SM City Fairview), this was one of the dishes we wanted to try, but we nearly scratched off the idea of ordering it because we were a bit apprehensive in trying it because it was expensive and that the idea of having something we haven't tried yet (the scallops) was a bit of a gamble, but mom decided to go for it.

We had three dishes that time, and of all the three dishes, this turned out to be the best. It was just so delicious! The scallops were rather small compared to the ones I saw being prepared in Hell's Kitchen (insert - I love chef Gordon Ramsay), but seeing the fresh scallops in the market, I guess scallops here in the Philippines were indeed small. Anyway, we were very used to eating broccoli with beef in oyster sauce, so eating this vegetable in white sauce was a delicious twist. The broccoli florets were steamed (not boiled) and hearing the crunch while eating it really topped the great dining experience.

I want to taste the flavours of China again! :)

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
