Nilagang Buto-Buto

Nilagang Buto-Buto

Once, mom came home with some bony parts of pork. It was supposed to be for our dinner that day, but brother was already preparing another dish, so he just pressure cooked the meat so we could store it in the fridge, making us dispose the accumulated fat during the cooking.

The next day, I decided to cook the dish myself (yes, so I could have an entry for Food Friday, hehehe). Normally, whenever there are pork bones in the fridge, we would just cook nilaga out of it. If it was me, I would prefer it to be sinigang, but since mom's not a big fan of sour dishes, nilaga was the best choice for it.

Aside from the bony parts with meat on it, mom also bought some of those bone parts with marrow, and I really enjoyed eating those! Armed with my very slim bread knife and a dip of patis and calamansi, it was heaven.

But I am thankful I didn't meet up with my Creator that night... eating foods like this makes me so guilty afterwards.

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
