ABC Wednesday | P and Q

Comments
I was supposed to share this yesterday, but our Internet connection went bonkers yesterday afternoon, so yeah... another two in one post for ABC Wednesday.

Puck Cheese Triangles

P is for Puck Cheese Triangles

Our neighbor got married to an Overseas Filipino Worker working in Saudi Arabia. Last week, her husband came home and gave us some presents - some chocolates and this - a box of Puck Cheese Triangles. I am not much familiar to some foreign brands, so tasting this took a while, but when I did, I loved it. It tasted like butter... cheese with butter - very easy to spread, a bit light, but oh so creamy and good.  I love spreading it on hot bread as well as melt it on some freshly cooked pasta.

Chatime QQ Milk Tea Chatime QQ Milk Tea

Q is for QQ Milk Tea

Milk tea sure is a big hit here in the Philippines, but it's my sister who's so into it than I am. I don't know what is QQ - if it's a tea variety or an abbreviation, but this cup of QQ Milk Tea was something sister took home one night and just gave the leftover to me. It wasn't cold anymore, but it was still good. I quite liked it, and since this one had some coconut jelly (nata de coco), I enjoyed the texture it brought - it was like eating a snack and having a drink at the same time.

Yummy Eats 2012

Comments
Last year, I was able to attend Yummy Eats at NBC Tent with my sister (you can read my posts about it HERE and HERE). It was a great event that since then I already looked forward to the next Yummy Eats event! Well... can you believe it has been nearly a year since the first Yummy Eats?

When I flipped through the pages of Yummy Magazine April issue, I was surprised to see the teaser of my much awaited food event...

This year, the event will take place at the Rockwell Tent in Makati City - which sister said is much accessible from our place. Well, I told her wherever the event will be, I will be there. Best Food Forward just concluded and I wasn't able to take that much pictures showcasing each of the concessionaires, so taking the lessons learned from there, I will make sure that I will take my moment at each of the food stops so I can take pictures to my heart's content.

Last year, there were about 31 concessionaires. This year there will be about 50. Wow! There will be five lanes for the events, namely - Sweet, Savory, Beverages, Chef's, and the Others Lane. Some were familiar companies to me, so among the concessionaires whose products I haven't tasted yet, I am interested to try...
  • Cupcake Boutique - I love cupcakes!
  • J.Co Donuts Philippines - I still haven't visited their shop in SM Megamall
  • Chicken Delish - I saw their booth at the BFF Event, so I will try their food at this event for sure
  • Chicken Sarap Inasal - Inasal is one of my favorite chicken dishes
  • Classic Confections by Baba Ibazeta-Benedicto - I love meeting celebrity chefs and tasting their food, too!
  • Villa Cafe by Sau del Rosario - I have heard a lot of raves about Chef Sau's food... I want to taste it, too!
  • Serenitea - They might be the first names in the milk tea industry here in the Philippines, but believe it or not, I haven't tasted their drinks yet.
  • QQ Mochibuns - Just to compare it with Mochicko. ;)
...but of course, if given the chance, I will sample as much as I can and even buy some products to eat here and to take home for my family. The full list of concessionaires at the event can be read HERE. This event will take place three Saturdays from now... so do mark your calendars. See you on May 26th at the Rockwell Tent for the Yummy Eats 2012.

Max's Restaurant Mother's Day Treat

Comments
Mother's Day may be on Sunday yet, but this early establishments are already having different promotions for such an important event. Mother's Day may not be as celebrated as Christmas or Valentine's Day, but I am sure you'd agree with me that this celebration will always dear to our hearts because of mothers are our first fan, our first teacher... the one who can replace everybody, but whose place is irreplaceable.

Mini Talk Show

Max's Restaurant - The Body Shop Tie Up

This year, Max's Restaurant teamed up with the Body Shop to give moms a great treat this Mother's Day. For this week - 07 to 13 May, diners can get a free the Body Shop shower gel (60ml) for p1300 minimum spent on any Max's Restaurant. This promo is open nationwide, and since the shower gels are soap-free, lather-rich and fruit infused, it sure is a good treat to our mothers or our aunts, grandmas... :)

Mother's Day Cupcakes

For Mother's Day, too, Max's Corner Bakery is offering special cupcakes. It is priced p50 each, but if you buy the box of three, you pay only p120... giving you p20 discount. After a sumptuous meal with the family, this can be a great sweet treat for moms...and for everyone in the family.

Max's Restaurant Food Spread

Last Friday, during the presscon at Max's Scout Tuazon branch, attendees were treated to an awesome lunch - which include Kare-Kare, Sinigang na Hipon, Daing na Bangus, Lechon Kawali, and Max's Fried Chicken. This set could very well be a good choice when you dine at Max's Restaurant (to avail of the free treat). Shared with my brother and some blogger friends, we all had a wonderful lunch while sharing stories, hearty laughs, and things about our mothers.

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
