Nacho "Libre"

Last April, I was able to meet up with some of my forum friends, and after meeting up in Starbucks at the Mega Strip, we all went to Congo Grille in El Pueblo to eat dinner. Five of us, including my sister chose to go for their group meals, while Halie and Doc Aileen chose to eat nachos instead.

Nacho "Libre" because while we were waiting for our meal to be served, I took the liberty of taking pictures of their food and took one nacho chip after. =) It was delicious, but quite pricey for me. I'd rather prepare myself a taco at home.

C = Coffee

I was supposed to put on a picture of a "cake," but decided on this... coffee.

This picture was originally taken for my Project 365 blog, the focal point of the picture is actually the quotation from Albert Einstein, which appeared on the book, "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. I was reading the book while having a hot cup of coffee, and thought, "Why not take a picture of it?"

Speaking of coffee, when I was about 8 or 9 years, I got addicted to coffee. My cousin Dang, who stayed with us that time discovered it when I hid a big jar of instant coffee in my closet. What I did that time was to fix myself a glass of milk then go to my room to add some coffee into it. I think at the most, I could drink 3 cups of coffee one after the other. When it was discovered, maybe my cousin told it to my parents and for the longest time, I didn't see any coffee in the house.

Well, I am happy to say now that even though I still drink coffee, I can only take a cup per day. My preference? I like my coffee hot, a bit sweet, and with cream.

Vigan Longganisa

My first time to join Cultural Connections. If I get it right, this meme talks about cultural foods, and so for the month of August, my post will be all about Vigan Foods.

Vigan City is my most favorite place, and not only is it a very beautiful place, so many foods were also associated with it. I guess part of the Philippine culture is to have each region or province their own version of the longganisa (sausage). Vigan Longganisa is quite small, yet very delicious. It is sold by the dozen in different shops in Vigan. Perfect when dipped in spicy vinegar!
