Chicken Tinola

weekend snapshots

Chicken Tinola

I don't know how it's called in English, but this soupy chicken dish was what we had for dinner last Friday. Not my favorite chicken dish, but I personally chose this dish after seeing that we only have chicken in the fridge. I cooked this as well, by the way. Each of us have one drumstick - enough to fill our tummy for dinner.

Typically, people use young papaya for this dish, but I am not fond of eating young papaya (but I eat a lot of the ripe ones), so I used sayote for this. Topped with chili leaves, I think I did a good job in cooking the dish. No violent reaction from the family, so I guess all's fine. =)

  1. My DH will call anything with broth or tomato sauce "stew". I call the dish ginger chicken stew or lemon grass chicken stew. (Syempre ako lang yun.)

  2. One of my friend's kid really loves that dish. So every time she's I make sure I cook that. Have a great week ahead!
