Continuing with the products I bought from Bong Bong's last November:

Caramel Tart

Caramel Tart (p46). From the get go, it tasted like Piaya in tart form, with merengue on top. It was just fine for me, but I am not really into tarts, so I guess I didn't find it really special.

Cheese Tart

Cheese Tart (p46). The crust and the merengue tasted the same, only difference was its look and the filling, of course. It was really cheesy, and as you may have known, this was the salty kind of tart - not a dessert tart at all, but I like it because it was savory.

Pastillas de Mangga

Pastillas de Mangga (p46). Thick hard shells with preserved mangoes inside. Them presenting this in empanada form was a good idea of not using that much mangoes. :) As for the filling, it wasn't really jam, I think, more of sticky dried mangoes. The filling was a bit sour, but the thick shell helped in taming the tangy mangoes inside. My family didn't like it, but for me it was just fine.

More Bong Bong products next week!

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
