Flirting with Mr. Jones

If you recall last May, I won the first Blog Contest of Yummy Magazine, and along with the six months subscription to the magazine, I also won 2000 GC to Mr. Jones diner located in Greenbelt 5, Makati. Eating at a food place as far as Makati seemed impossible for the whole family, but I personally only want to share the prize to them, so we waited for the right timing when to use it. Sister is now working and I didn't want for us to be missing one family member, so when mom's birthday came up, I knew it was the perfect timing.

Mom's birthday was last Monday, but since sister's day off is every Tuesday, I just asked mom to switch her birthday leave to Tuesday so we could use the GCs. It was quite funny and amusing at the same time that I have been using the GCs I have won as my gift to mom, last year, I used the Red Ribbon GCs to buy her birthday cake, and now this. Am I so glad I am a blogger! :)

Char-Grilled Greek Style Norwegian Salmon Steak

We ordered four dishes, but I will share one picture for now as I still don't know the names of the other dishes (I let brother took pics of the menu). This one's the Char-Grilled Greek Style Norwegian Salmon Steak, and prior to us eating here, I have already decided to have this, based on the blog articles I have read. Last week, I have told that we could only eat the Salmon heads because we cannot afford to buy the steak cuts, so this food trip presented a good chance for us to eat salmon steaks. Sadly I wasn't able to eat much of this dish because there were three other foods to try. For all its worth, this tasted really great! Well.. the wild rice pilaf I didn't like much - I guess I am a big fan of the white rice and I felt these red rice had a nutty hint and it was like eating glutinous rice that were slightly firmer. As for the blending of the fish and the relish and the veggies, it was really good!

This one cost 400+ pesos. If I didn't have the CG, there is no way in the world I would order this because it was just really expensive. Well, Mr. Jones' foods are very expensive to say the least, but their servings were big and the foods tasted really delicious. Still, being the kuripot woman that I am, I guess this would be the only chance that I could get to flirt with Mr. Jones.

ps - Mr. Jones had this tagline, "Stop flirting with me." Hence, the title of my post.

Wowwww. My mouth literally watered when I saw this post. Ang sarap tingnan. I haven't tried ordering fish in a restaurant, but, since I'm seeing a lot of Food Trip Friday entries with fish, I'd definitely would love to try it next time.

Jenn, the Foodie

I come from a family who loves cooking and eating. I never had any formal training in cooking and that I taught myself how to cook based on the handed down recipes, but I could say that I can cook good food. In 2008, I started documenting my food trips for my travel blog, and since I have quite enough to start a food blog, might as well put all those food trips in one location. Thus, a food blog is born - thanks to the new Friendster Blogs. However, due to several problems, I was left with no choice but to pack bags again and move here instead. Here's the permanent address, promise! Enough talk, let the food trippin' begin! {Know More About Me}
